How to enter cheats in 0 A.D.
PC
- Single player needs nothing; in multiplayer the host ticks Cheats in the match setup before starting.
- During the match, press Enter or T to open the chat box.
- Type the code exactly as shown; codes are case-sensitive.
- Press Enter again to send it.
Can you use these cheats in multiplayer?
Cheats work in multiplayer only if the host ticks the Cheats box in the match setup. The game checks one setting for the whole match, so once it is on any player in the match can type codes, not just the host. Wildfire Games (0 A.D. 0.28.0 source): Cheat.js
Compatibility notes
Which releases these codes apply to, and where one behaves differently. Each note links to the source that documents it.
- Single player The game setup code turns cheats on automatically in single player; the Cheats checkbox can only be changed in a networked (multiplayer) match. Wildfire Games (0 A.D. 0.28.0 source): Cheats checkbox in match setup
- Rated multiplayer games The Cheats setting is forced off whenever Rated Game is ticked, so a leaderboard match never allows codes. Wildfire Games (0 A.D. 0.28.0 source): Cheats game setting
- Alpha 23 and earlier In Alpha 23 TARDIS set the maximum population to exactly 500 and the hive master gave a flat 500 housing bonus. Later releases add 500 on top of the current limits instead. Wildfire Games (0 A.D. Alpha 23 source): Cheat.js
- Alpha 24 to 0.28.0 The current code adds 500 to the maximum population for TARDIS and lifts the housing limit above the maximum for the hive master, so using both gives the cap plus 500 with no houses. Wildfire Games (0 A.D. 0.28.0 source): Cheat.js
