How to enter cheats in CS 1.6

PC

Open Options, go to Keyboard, click Advanced and tick Enable developer console (~).
Create your own server or offline game with bots.
Press the tilde (~) key, type sv_cheats 1 and press Enter, then reload the map with changelevel and the map name.
Type any other command and press Enter.

Compatibility notes

1.6 and Condition Zero The Counter-Strike Wiki notes that in 1.6 and Condition Zero an admin has to run changelevel with a map name after sv_cheats 1 before the cheats work fully. It says the later Counter-Strike games do not need that step. Counter-Strike Wiki: Developer console
Condition Zero: Deleted Scenes Per the Counter-Strike Wiki, impulse 101 gives full cash in 1.6 but hands out a weapon set in Deleted Scenes (AK-47, AWP, MP5, Desert Eagle, grenades, night vision). There you reload the mission instead of using changelevel. Counter-Strike Wiki: Developer console
