How to enter cheats in KOTOR

PC

Close the game and back up swkotor.ini in your KOTOR install folder.
Open swkotor.ini in Notepad and add EnableCheats=1 under [Game Options].
Save the file, start the game and load a save.
Press ~ to bring down the console, type a command and press Enter.

How to enable developer mode in KOTOR

Close the game; the change only needs to be made once.
Find swkotor.ini in the game's main folder; for older installs that is usually a LucasArts folder under Program Files.
Open it in Notepad or another text editor and add EnableCheats=1 on its own line below [Game Options].
Save the file and start KOTOR; press ~ in-game to open the console.
