How to enter cheats in Dragon Age
PC
- Add -enabledeveloperconsole to the game's launch options in Steam, Origin or the EA app, or to a daorigins.exe shortcut.
- Load a save and press the backtick key (`), under the tilde on US keyboards.
- Type the command, for example runscript zz_money 100000, and press Enter.
- Enter also closes the console.
How to enable developer mode in Dragon Age
- Steam standard edition: right-click the game, choose Properties and add -enabledeveloperconsole to the launch options.
- Origin or EA app: add -enabledeveloperconsole to the advanced launch options or command line arguments, for both editions.
- Steam Ultimate Edition: back up data\DAOriginsLauncher.xml, then add arguments="-enabledeveloperconsole" to the line that starts DAOrigins.exe.
- If the key doesn't work, check OpenConsole_0 in Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings\KeyBindings.ini; the default is Keyboard::Button_Grave.
Do cheats disable achievements in Dragon Age?
The Dragon Age Wiki does not say that the console blocks achievements. It does list runscript cheater, which unlocks achievements outright, and warns that runscript selectparty hands you the Recruiter achievement while marking every companion as recruited, which can break their plots. - Steam Ultimate Edition The Dragon Age Wiki says the shortcut method doesn't work with the Ultimate Edition on Steam. Edit DAOriginsLauncher.xml in the data folder instead, or add the option to a shortcut that starts daorigins.exe directly. Dragon Age Wiki: Console (Origins)
