Compatibility notes
Which releases these codes apply to, and where one behaves differently. Each note links to the source that documents it.
- Non-US keyboard layouts Commands.gg says the console key depends on your keyboard layout and can be ~, ' or \ rather than the tilde. Commands.gg: XCOM 2 console commands and cheats
- Avenger vs. missions Commands.gg tags each command as working on the Avenger or in a mission, and says a command used in the wrong place may not be recognised. Hablamos de Gamers says TakeNoDamage only works inside a mission. Commands.gg: XCOM 2 console commands and cheats
- Tactical missions Hablamos de Gamers says ToggleUnlimitedAmmo should be switched on at the start of your turn and off at the end, or enemies get unlimited ammo too, and that ToggleUnlimitedActions lifts the AI's action limit as well. Hablamos de Gamers: XCOM 2 console commands
- Ending missions early Commands.gg says to complete the objectives with ForceCompleteObjective before using EndBattle to win, and warns that MakeSoldierAClass can break the game with some classes, so save first. Commands.gg: XCOM 2 console commands and cheats

Add -allowconsole to the launch options on Steam, or to the end of the shortcut's Target field on GOG, then press ~ in-game to open it.
Is there a god mode command in XCOM 2?
Yes. PowerUp turns on invincibility and removes the reload requirement for your squad.
Do XCOM 2 console commands work in War of the Chosen?
Yes, though War of the Chosen adds an extra argument to some soldier commands, such as SetSoldierStat.
How do you turn off an XCOM 2 toggle command?
Type the same command again. Most, like PowerUp, TakeNoDamage and ToggleFOW, are switches rather than one-time effects.
