- Start the game, then press the grave/tilde key (~) to open the console. Some keyboard layouts use Shift+2, Shift+3, Alt+2+1, §, ^, or °.
- Type a command and press Enter.
How to enable developer mode in EU5
- On Steam, right-click Europa Universalis V and open Properties.
- Add -debug_mode to the Launch Options and start the game.
- Without Steam, make a shortcut to eu5.exe in the binaries folder and add -debug_mode to the end of its Target field.
- Load a non-ironman game and press the console key (` on QWERTY keyboards).
Do cheats disable achievements in EU5?
Paradox Wikis ties achievements to running without debug mode or mods: to earn them again you disable all active mods, remove -debug_mode from the launch options and confirm the checksum in the main menu is the right one.
