How to enter cheats in Saints Row 2

Any platform

Pause the game and open the Cellphone.
Choose Dial and enter the number, including the # symbol.
Press Send; a message confirms it was entered correctly.
Open the Cheats menu on the phone and select the cheat to turn it on.

Do cheats disable achievements in Saints Row 2?

Yes, for that save. Saints Row Wiki says activating a cheat turns off Autosave and Achievements and marks the save with an orange star. The three promotional vehicle codes are the exception. It also warns that Statistics can freeze, since they are tied to your profile rather than the save. Saints Row Wiki: Cheats in Saints Row 2

Can you use these cheats in multiplayer?

Only with a catch. Saints Row Wiki says that if you play co-op with someone who has already activated cheats, both saves are flagged as cheating. Keep co-op sessions with a cheating partner on a separate save if you still want Achievements. Saints Row Wiki: Cheats in Saints Row 2

Compatibility notes

Which releases these codes apply to, and where one behaves differently. Each note links to the source that documents it.

PS3 Saints Row Wiki says the three promotional vehicle codes still mark a PS3 save as cheating, although Autosave stays on there. The PS3 version also skips the warning the game shows before you activate a cheat. Saints Row Wiki: Cheats in Saints Row 2
Entering vs activating Saints Row Wiki notes that dialing a number only adds the cheat to the phone. Nothing happens until you switch it on in the Cheats menu, and the entry stays listed there for good. Saints Row Wiki: Cheats in Saints Row 2
Statistics Saints Row Wiki says activating a cheat can freeze your Statistics even if you never save, because Statistics belong to the profile rather than the save file. Saints Row Wiki: Cheats in Saints Row 2
Co-op Saints Row Wiki says playing co-op with someone who has activated cheats flags both players' saves as cheating. Saints Row Wiki: Cheats in Saints Row 2

FAQ

Do Saints Row 2 cheats disable Achievements?

Yes, for almost every cheat. The three promotional vehicle codes (Pocket Bike, Gyro Daddy and UFO) are the only ones that don't block Achievements or disable Autosave.

How do you enter cheats in Saints Row 2?

Pause the game, open the Cellphone, dial the cheat's number including the # symbol, and press Send. Then open the Cheats menu on the phone to turn it on.

Is there a money cheat in Saints Row 2?

Yes. Dial #cashmoneyz to instantly get $1,000.

Do the same cheats work on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360?

Yes. The phone numbers are the same across all three versions of Saints Row 2.

Can you turn a Saints Row 2 cheat off?

Most cheats stay on for the rest of the session once activated. Notoriety cheats just add or remove stars rather than toggling on and off.
