FAQ
What is the difference between a cheat code and a console command?
A cheat code is a word or button sequence you enter while playing. A console command is typed into a separate developer console, usually takes arguments, and can do much more.
Can commands break my game?
Some can. Commands that spawn or remove objects, change quests or teleport you can leave a save in a bad state. Keep a separate save before experimenting; each guide's warnings cover the risky ones.
